How much does it cost to avoid a ton of CO2 with Solar?

Solar panels, which convert sunlight directly to electricity still cost about 10 times too much per kilowatt hour. But thermal solar is making a comeback and is about the same price as wind. A 64 MW project is being build in Las Vegas; that's equal to about 30 giant wind turbines.
The policy trick is not to try to figure out some tricky subsidy. Just give solar the same subsidy as wind and other zero-GHG electricity generated with zero GHG emissions.
