The National 9-11 Commission found:
"...no evidence that these or the earlier contacts ever developed into a collaborative operational relationship. Nor have we seen evidence indcating that Iraq cooperated with al Qaeda in developing or carrying out any attacks against the United States. (p.66)
Trying to stop attacks agains the U.S. by invading Iraq was a waste of $200 billion and many American lives.
The National 9-11 Commission found:
"In August 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait. Bin Ladin, whose efforts in Afghanistan had earned him celebrity and respect, proposed to the Saudi monarchy that he summon mujahideen for a jihad to retake Kuwait. (p.57)
