Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos (for Hillary)

13.7% of Clinton's Indiana Voters Aren't for Her
This comes from CNN's Exit poll. The data and calcs are collected here.
CNN asked voters who they would vote for if Clinton ran against McCain in November. Of the 16% that said McCain, 41% of those voted for Clinton in the primary. What kind of supporter votes for her in the primary but would dump her for McCain in the real election? Non-supporters, that's who. For example Republicans causing trouble.
A few more voters said they would rather not vote than vote for her in November, and then they voted for her in the primary.
Altogether 13.7% of those who voted for here would dump her in November. That's the kind of supporters she's bringing out for herself and the Democrats.

Rush Limbaugh Delivers Indiana for Clinton
May 7, 2008. zHardFacts: This time Rush is right. His "Operation Chaos" actually threw the race. By zFacts' analysis, absent Limbaugh-following Republicans, Obama would have won Indiana 51% to 49% instead of the other way around. According to CNN exit polls 10.6% of Hillary's vote was Republican. Why are Hillary-haters voting for Hillary? Because they think she will destroy the Democratic Party. If she takes their help without saying a word, then shame on Hillary. She should denounce Limbaugh, just as Obama denounced Wright.
Besides handing Indiana to Clinton, Operation Chaos has increased Clinton's popular vote total by an estimated 217,000, and her delegate count by an estimated 14 (3 in OH, 2.5 in TX, 3.5 in MS, 2 in IN, and 3 in NC).

Clinton's Indiana "Win" by the Numbers

When it looked like Obama would win, after the Wisconsin primary, Rush Limbaugh was afraid. Democrats united behind Obama would easily defeat McCain. Hillary Clinton was his hope. Being a Dem insider, she could do more damage than McCain, and being desperate, she was willing to do it.
Starting with Texas and Ohio Limbaugh has been telling Republicans to register as Democrats and vote for Clinton or, in "open primary" states, just walk into the Democratic primary. CNN has polled voters in these open primaries, so we know that before Operation Chaos Clinton got:
20%, 52%, 36%, 21%, 17%, 23% and 28% in the 7 open primaries. After Limbaugh's Operation Chaos began, she got
49%, 46%, 75%, 54%, and 61% in 5 open primaries.
Her only high score before Operation Chaos was in Alabama, where the Republicans seem to have caught on to the Chaos strategy early. Recently in Mississippi, a record 12% of the voters in the Democratic primary were Republican, and 75% of them voted for Clinton. Without the Republicans Obama would have won by 35% instead of only 24%.
Altogether Rush has handed Clinton about 216,000 Republican votes — and probably every one of them hates Hillary. Without Rush, Obama would have won Indiana 51% to 49% instead of the other way around. You can see all the data and calculations here: Operation Chaos Spreadsheet.
