Step 4 of the scientific method requires an experiment. An experiment requires a control. What are the controls in climate science?

Latest Science Debunks Global Warming Hysteria

The sun, not a gas, is primarily to "blame" for global warming -- and plays a very key role in global temperature variations as well. national center
James M. Inhofe, US Senator, Oklahoma "Let me be very clear: alarmists are attempting to enact an agenda of energy suppression that is inconsistent with American values of freedom, prosperity, and environmental progress.
"Over the past 2 hours, I have offered compelling evidence that catastrophic global warming is a hoax. That conclusion is supported by the painstaking work of the nation's top climate scientists." Inhofe speech
Jeff Kueter, president of the George C. Marshall Institute, complains that the mainstream media does not respect climate-change research conducted by industry-funded groups, such as his Washington think tank. He says that scientists who question whether global warming is real "are quickly labeled [as] having received money from the petroleum industry. The media considers their findings and their opinions to be somehow tainted because they've got a financial relationship." marshall institute
Predictions of climate doom are the result of computer driven speculation while
proposals for energy independence defy economic reality. William O'Keefe- Climate Change and National Security
michael crichton. In my view, our approach to global warming exemplifies everything that is wrong with our approach to the environment. We are basing our decisions on speculation, not evidence. Proponents are pressing their views with more PR than scientific data. crichton
These are issues of faith. And so it is, sadly, with environmentalism. Increasingly it seems facts aren't necessary, because the tenets of environmentalism are all about belief. crichton

Bill Steigerwald's Q: Here’s a line from a recent Mother Jones article: "There is overwhelming scientific consensus that greenhouse gases emitted by human activity are causing global average temperatures to rise." Is that true?
Fred Singer's answer: It’s completely unsupported by any observation, but it’s supported by computer climate models. In other words, the computer models would indicate this. The observations do not. [from a conservative mag] link 7-27-05

For that reason it would not do the performance of the models justice to call them simulations. After all, the models don't simulate the real world but only reflect hypotheses by climate alarmists who don't wish to, and can't, take in all of the factors affecting variations in climate trends.
